Maths in Primary key stages 1 & 2
The focus in these Key Stages is to develop & build confidence in the mental fluency of whole numbers & the place value system in all 4 operations. Your child will be encouraged to deepen their understanding through effective questioning, investigations & scaffolded lesson plans. These processes will improve how your child will learn & are transferable to all areas of maths.
MATHS in secondary Key Stages 3 & 4
Your child will build confidence, competency & fluency in number, algebra, ratio, proportion & rates of change, geometry & measures, probability & statistics. Together we will strengthen weaknesses, deepen understanding & apply these skills in contextually-based questions.
iGCSE ADDITIONAL MATHS
Your child will receive a broad & deep education in maths & an additional more advanced IGCSE qualification in maths: extension of mathematical skills & their uses in more advanced techniques; an ability to solve problems, present solutions logically & interpret results. These skills will build a firmer foundation into A Level studies.
A LEVEL MATHS & FURTHER MATHS
Your child will understand mathematical processes in a way that promotes confidence, fosters enjoyment, provides a string foundation for progress to higher mathematical study. We will use technology to explore situations, interpret solutions & extend their range of mathematical skills & techniques.
IB maths (A&I · A&A)
Your child will gain the right knowledge & skills to develop their curiosities in the MYP & IB programmes. Together we will consolidate skills in preparation for the e-assessments.
preparation for SATS & ACTS
Your child will gain the sense of how to think effectively about the SAT/ACT exams, will learn how to solve problems in multiple ways, further develop the algebra topics & analyse statistical enquiries.
elite university maths tests
I help students with standardised maths entry tests for British, Dutch & Italian universities, including the MAT, STEP, TMUA & Bocconi which are required or recommended for degrees in mathematics & economics at elite universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, Warwick, LSE & Bocconi.

With my experience as Head of Mathematics at Hastings School, I can offer support in all areas of the teaching & learning of mathematics, support leadership teams with raising attainment & achievement in maths, planning & assessment support, building whole-school links, gift & talented provision & analyse data to identify strengths & weaknesses to help under-performing groups. I could also be available for supply work & exam invigilation during term time.
